CASA of NELA hosts The Brain Architecture Game

This past Thursday was a game-changer for our Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) of Northeast Louisiana crew!  Our volunteers dove deep into a regional training all about Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and how they affect the kiddos in our care.

Our CASA Coordinators led the group through an eye-opening session with The Brain Architecture Game.  In this hands-on experience, the aim is to build a brain tower as high and strong as possible.  Positive experiences like love, support, and encouragement earn building blocks - pipe cleaners and straws. But when life throws curveballs, you only get the pipe cleaner without the straw for support.  When the stressors of life start piling up, it really puts the brain's foundation to the test.
